Board and whelp
Because we are only able to support one board and whelp at a time, it is important to discuss this option with us prior to breeding and remain in contact with us throughout your dogs heat cycle and breeding. A deposit is required to hold your board and whelp spot. Should the breeding not result in pregnancy, the deposit will be returned.
An expecting female will come to our whelping program 2 weeks prior to the due date in order to allow her to settle into the comfortable and dog-friendly whelping spa. We have requirements (vaccination, parasite control) for entering this program, but these will be discussed during the initial interview for consideration of this program.
Dogs in our board and whelp program remain with us either 6 or 8 weeks - depending on the breeder's preference. Some breeders like to bring the puppies back at 6 weeks to finalize new homes while others prefer the puppies remain with us for the full 8 weeks. Puppies must return to the breeder or their new homes at 8 weeks old. Any puppies that remain beyond the 8 weeks will be charged as participants for our board and train program.
Our whelping program includes a socialization program that begins at 3 days old with early neurologic stimulation (ENS) and evolves as the puppies mature to include novel sounds, sights, textures, visitors, and problem-solving opportunities as well as a start to potty training and introduction to crates. We have an indoor and outdoor sensory areas and puppies will be provided with a solid foundation to allow them to be amazing companions, pets, and/or service dog prospects.
At 7 weeks, puppies can also be temperament tested through our evaluation services (see evaluation area) if desired.
Our parasite control/vaccination protocol:
Cost: varies - please contact us for a quote. Typically the cost of our service would be comparable to the cost of one to two puppies from the litter. These include but are not limited to: pre-whelp X-ray, vaccinations, C-section (if necessary), dew claw removal/tail docking (if elected), etc. Owner is also responsible for supplying the food for the mother and puppies.

Whelp at home
The best way to describe our whelp at home program is simply that we act as a "dog midwife" for your whelping dog. We are able to assist you in the whelping of your own female, walking you through the process or completing the whelping at your home where you can be as "hands on" or as "hands off" as you wish.
Having tremendous amount of experience in whelping, we are able to help you determine what is normal and what might be problematic. We can also guide you in determining when/if it might be time for veterinary intervention. If assisting you with a whelp at home, we do ask that you have a conversation with your own vet to determine if they offer c-section services so you are aware should that become necessary. While most females are able to whelp naturally, knowing in advance what to do in those emergency situations is important.
We can also help you determine what supplies you will want to have on hand for the whelping.
Cost: $300 per litter (up to 5 hours) but can be more or less depending on the role you wish us to play during the whelping. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs to get a specific quote.
